Alferink Artists Management (AAM) was founded by Pieter G. Alferink in 1971 in Amsterdam. In the early days, the management promoted Luciano Pavarotti, organized a master class around Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, and discovered the talent of Thomas Quasthoff.
Theo van den Bogaard is owner and director of AAM since 2001. He added conductors, stage directors, designers and instrumentalists to the roster. He picked up young singers and brought them to the top of the international opera world. Under his direction, the number of a very loyal staff grew with 50%. He is programmer of the Diaghilev Festival and series Grote Zangers. Theo van den Bogaard published a book on art song and is lecturer musical science at the Universiteit Utrecht. While expanding in all these directions, the very heart of AAM remained the same: a boutique management of fine singers.
We are always striving to establish new relationships, with excellent artists, promoters or new staff for the office. If this website is inspiring you, please contact us and feel welcome to visit our office in the historical city centre of Amsterdam.
We have had excellent experience with interns and are therefore always looking for young students who are aiming for an internship in an international working environment. Especially students in electrical engineering, musicology, cultural studies, on the bachelor or masters level, are invited to apply.
We are always looking for people who have the ambition to work as an artists manager. If you think you have the right skills, if you love classical music, opera and ballet, and if you live in Amsterdam, please do not hesitate to send us your CV and to talk to Theo van den Bogaard, managing director of the agency.
