Description of working experience
At Sierra Rutile Ltd. Theo van den Bogaard wrote a report for senior management,
including proposals to improve the data networks
At Andersen Consulting, he adviced clients in the telecom industry such as France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom.
Based in Chicago, Paris and Frankfurt he specialised in 'billing'.
Theo went on to become an associate with Alferink Artists in 1999 and now owns
the company. The agency specialises in General Management (World wide exclusive
representation), managing established artists with international careers as well
as developing the careers of talented young artists. The agency specialises in
managing vocal artists, stage directors and conductors. Important promoters
include the Metropolitan Opera (New York), Royal Opera House (London), Opéra
National de Paris and the Teatro alla Scala (Milan).
In addition to artist management, the agency is also involved in special
projects. For example, Theo van den Bogaard is artistic director of the
Diaghilev Festival and has managed to persuade Valery Gergiev to become its
patron. The agency has previously produced concerts and recitals for Jessye
Norman, Edita Gruberova and José Cura while Theo van den Bogaard also organises
recital tours for Thomas Quasthoff, Charlotte Margiono and Robert Holl. The
agency is also engaged in creating and staging complete operas, e.g. a
semi-staged version of Die Lustige Witwe, the final concert of the
'Vocaal Festival' in the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. Theo van den Bogaard is
currently preparing a recital series, starting in 2009/10, to be held in the
Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
