Kor-Jan Dusseljee studied in the Netherlands at the Academy of Utrecht in the class of German baritone Udo Reinemann, where he graduated "cum laude". He attended master classes of Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai. He was laureate of the 3rd International Singers’ Competition in Clermont-Ferrand, which led him to several concert-invitations in France (Festival de Besançon), the Netherlands (Radio and Television), Finland (Savonlinna Festival), Switzerland and Germany.
The 2015/16 season he sings Herman in Pique Dame in Braunschweig and Graf von Kent in Lear at the Opéra National de Paris. Earlier in 2015 he sang the title role in Les contes d'Hoffmann in Perm and Lilaque in Kopenhagen. Kor-Jan Dusseljee opened the 2013/14 season as Hans in The Bartered Bride at Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Further highlights in that season were Bacchus in a new production of Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra de Toulon, Hermann in Pique Dame in Gelsenkirchen. and Janacek's Glagolitic Mass with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Tomas Netopil. In the preceeding season, Teatro Regio Torino engaged him as Erik in Wagner's Flying Dutchman under Gianandrea Noseda and as Florestan in Fidelio. In concert he sang the part of Froh in Wagner's Rheingold with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under Marek Janowski as well as with the Orchestra Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Kirill Petrenko.. The title role in Verdi’s Otello took him to the New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv. His major successes include Hermann in Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame sung at the Komische Oper Berlin and at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Verdi's Otello at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden and Lohengrin at Staatstheater Braunschweig, the title role in Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at Komische Oper Berlin. His repertoire includes Lohengrin, Don Alovaro, Prinz in Rusalka and Max in Der Freischütz. The successful Dutch tenor collaborates with renowned conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda, Marek Janowski, Riccardo Chaillly, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Kirill Petrenko und Valery Gergiev as with several orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, Staatskapelle Dresden and Bamberger Symphoniker.
